They are small and brown. Or green. Or changing from brown to green as you watch.

The anole is a creature of summer, a lover of warmth whose range extends no further north than Oklahoma. You’ll find them in special abundance in Florida, in the West Indies, and down into South America. Most of us who spent time in the American south as children have memories of playing with these docile reptiles.

Making sketch notes - the practice of recording lots of written information on a sketchbook page with some corresponding drawings - is a good way to teach yourself about a specific animal or plant. It’s my favorite format for making printables, an informal combination of pictures and words. I always remember things much more clearly after I have drawn them. Give it a try.
