Video: Drawing white pelicans

This big seabird isn't especially fond of the sea

My county in coastal Alabama is the winter home of several flocks of American white pelicans, but you won’t find them along the Gulf beaches. Instead, they settle in along freshwater bays and brackish estuaries. I’ve seen them relaxing on the lake in a city park. Unlike brown pelicans, they prefer shallow inland waters where they can use their enormous bills to scoop up tasty fish.
